Privacy Statement

Veterinary Acupuncture regards your privacy as important as our own and your data will always be considered confidential. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Only authorised employees will collect or have access to any information from yourself. Personal Information is stored on a secure server or in a locked filing cabinet. We will constantly review this information to ensure the best possible service in accordance with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).


What Information do we collect?

When you make your initial enquiry your name, address, telephone number and email address and pet identification details are recorded. The information is collected via the following ways, Website enquiry form, Telephone enquiry or e-mail enquiry. If you decide to use our services, we will then request your pet’s full medical history from their first opinion vets with your consent.

How do we use your personal information?

We do not sell your information to anyone.

We do use your data to identify you and your pet on our system so this will enable us to provide our veterinary services to you. Our services include maintenance of clinical notes, administration, prescription scripts and any general enquiries regarding your pet. We will also use your data if we need to send a treatment referral request to an external provider. e.g. Another Veterinary Practice, Physio or Hydrotherapy sessions.


When we process a pet insurance claim form we may be required to provide contact details and medical history of your pet in order that your claim may be processed by your insurance company. Submission of an insurance claim form for our completion implies your consent for transferring the required information. Such information may also be requested by insurance companies for the prevention of fraud. 


We may occasionally make a request to you for permission to use any pictures of your pets to use on the website for marketing purposes.

How long do we keep your personal data for? 
Your data will only be kept by Veterinary Acupuncture and Pain Management for as long as you remain a client. This will be in accordance with RCVS stipulations regarding the retention of medical history.

*Deletion of data will be made on your request but may be limited by the lawful requirements of the RCVS, Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, Animal Welfare Act 2006 and future legislation.
